Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka is anticipated to join Borussia Dortmund on an initial loan before the transfer deadline, according to Patrick Berger.
The Englishman has been out-of-favour under manager Enzo Maresca this campaign. He has been given the green light to pursue a new challenge.
Dortmund are in advanced negotiations with the Blues, and the midfielder has already travelled to Germany to undergo his medical tests in advance.
The German club could pay €4-5 million up front for a loan deal. A buy clause in the region of €30 million could be agreed as part of the move.
Aside from Chukwuemeka, there could be more exits before the deadline. Ben Chiwell could leave on a short-term loan amid his lack of minutes.
The Blues have already agreed terms with Crystal Palace for the left-back, and it remains to be seen whether he will join them.
Chilwell turned down a loan move to Turkey in the last transfer window, but could be tempted to move across London with the Eagles.
