Arsenal have a serious interest in signing Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres at the end of the campaign, according to David Ornstein.
The Gunners are expected to spend big on a marquee striker. They have been linked with several names, but Gyokeres seems the likely choice.
Ornstein has revealed that new sporting director Andrea Berta has already started groundwork over a potential deal for the Swedish star.
Gyokeres has been in sensational form this campaign with 42 goals and 11 assists from 42 appearances for the reigning Portuguese champions.
His form has caught the eye of elite European clubs, but Arsenal seem most determined to land his signature as Alexander Isak may not be attainable.
Isak has been a long-term target for the Gunners, but he is most likely to continue with Newcastle United for the 2025/26 campaign at least.
The Swede has another three years left on his contract with the Magpies. The Tyneside outfit may not contemplate his exit for another season.
