England Women’s captain Nat Sciver-Brunt will miss the third Vitality IT20 against India Women at the Kia Oval with a left groin injury, the ECB announced on Thursday.
“Results of the scan will determine whether Sciver-Brunt is required to miss any more games in the series, with the fourth Vitality IT20 due to take place on Wednesday 9 July at Emirates Old Trafford,” the statement further said.
Tammy Beaumont will captain the side in her absence, with Hampshire batter Maia Bouchier called up the squad for the Kia Oval as cover.
Sciver-Brunt, who scored a half-century during England’s 97-run loss against India in the first T20I, was seen going off the field while the host was fielding during the second match.
England is trailing the series 0-2 after India notched up a 24-run win in the second T20I match with Amanjot Kaur and Jemimah Rodrigues smashing half-centuries.
