IND-W vs SA-W: Pratika Rawal scores 5th straight 50-plus score, equals Mithali Raj record

Pratika Rawal became only the second Indian woman cricketer, after former India captain Mithali Raj, to score five consecutive fifty-plus scores in ODIs, achieving the feat during a match against South Africa in Colombo on Tuesday.

Opening the innings, Rawal brought up her fifty in 58 balls, reaching the milestone with a six. She eventually fell for 78 off 91 deliveries, hitting seven fours and a six.

The 24-year-old began her streak earlier this year in Rajkot with an 89 against Ireland. She followed it up with scores of 67 and a career-best 154 in the same series. Her unbeaten 50 against Sri Lanka in the ongoing Tri-Nation series kept the run going.

With six fifty-plus scores, including a century, in just eight ODI innings, Rawal is off to a remarkable start. She made her debut in December 2024 against the West Indies in Vadodara.
