Manchester United are continuing talks with Brentford to purchase Bryan Mbeumo this summer, according to Manchester Evening News.
The Red Devils are keen on bolstering their forward department for next season, and they have already signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
Mbeumo has emerged as the next target for the Mancunian giants, but they have yet to finalise a suitable agreement for the Cameroonian star.
The 25-year-old has made it clear that he wants to join the Red Devils, but the Bees are expected to demand a significant price for his transfer.
The west London side have turned down two bids of £55 million and £62.5 million for the winger and could hold out for £70 million for his sale.
Brentford are aware of United’s intention to sign their prized asset and look set to play hardball over negotiations unless their asking price is met.
United ideally want Mbeumo in their squad for the start of pre-season. A third bid could be made in the next couple of days or so.
