As an undrafted rookie out of Virginia Tech, Blackshear played 13 games last season. Featuring as the Panthers’ third-string running back, he rushed 23 times for 77 yards and three touchdowns, while catching 10 of 12 targets for 93 more yards. Blackshear also was a factor as a kick and punt returner. With offseason signing Miles Sanders and veteran holdover Chuba Hubbard expected to fill Carolina’s top two running back roles, Blackshear figures to compete for similar depth and utility duties in 2023.
