Former Arsenal star Theo Walcott has said that the Gunners need to pursue a new striker in the transfer market after their FA Cup third round exit against Manchester United.
The Gunners had a man advantage for 60 minutes against the Red Devils, but they were unable to find the winner. Martin Odegaard squandered a penalty in regular time.
United eventually came on top in the penalty shoot-out. Havertz missed two big chances to find the back of the net and he faced a similar fate in the shoot-out at the end.
Speaking after the game, Walcott said that the story of the game could have been completely different, had Arsenal had a better marksman to lead the line against United.
He said: “It’s like everyone else has said before, Arsenal need a striker at this moment at this time because it would have been a completely different story.”
Arsenal are not exploring the transfer market for a new striker at the moment, but the situation could change after the FA Cup third round exit.
