UP Warriorz posted the highest total in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) during a league stage match against defending champion Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday.
The Deepti Sharma-led side rode on Georgia Voll’s unbeaten 99 to post 225 for five on the scoreboard, beating the previous record held by Delhi Capitals against the same side (223 vs RCB at Brabourne, 2023).
After being put to bat, Grace Harris and Voll maximised the regulations in the first six overs to post the highest WPL PowerPlay score this season – 67.
After Harris’ dismissal, Voll led the charge and found an apt partner in Kiran Navgire. The Indian smashed two fours and five sixes en route to 46 off 15 balls but fell short of a half-century.
The Australian, however, stood strong for the homeside till the very end, scoring the highest WPL score of 99 not-out but falling agonisngly short of a first-ever WPL century.
